Citra Blonde Summer Brew (Widmer Bros. Brewing)

With summer “officially” over (they’re calling for temps in the 90s next week) I figured it’s time to write up my final review of a summer seasonal. Even though I got sick of this beer after we ordered a keg of it, it was still one of the best summer seasonals I discovered this year.

CITRA BLONDE SUMMER BREW is an American Blonde Ale from Oregon’s Widmer Bros. Brewing. This summer seasonal has a perfect for a hot day 4.3% ABV.

Twilight Summer Ale (Deschutes Brewery)

Summer is usually a wasteland for me when it comes to new beers. I’m not the world’s biggest Hefeweizen/Wheat Ale fan (there are some good ones out there) and I can only drink so many Blonde Ales before I get bored, so summer time leads me to scrounge the store shelves for something to satiate my thirst for new beer. Summer Love (Victory Brewing Company)

SUMMER BEERS Day 4

I recently went and saw John Williams perform live with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl and I brought a six pack of this beer to keep me company. I knew nothing about it, but I saw that it was a summer seasonal and what better type of beer to keep you cool on a warm August night while enjoying live music under the stars. Summer Love is a blonde ale available May through the summer. It clocks in at an easy drinking 5.2% ABV.
