If there’s one thing Dogfish Head is known for it’s making unique limited release beers. President and founder Sam Calagione is always on a quest for new ingredients to add to his ever-expanding line of off-centered ales. Although RED & WHITE isn’t as “out there” as some of the stuff they produce, it is definitely not your typical beer.
Red & White is a Belgian-style Witbier with a practically non-existent 35 IBUs and an ABV that floats between beer and wine at 10%.
Double White is the signature beer from New York’s Southampton Publick House. This double strength witbier has a meager 18 IBUs and an easy drinking 6.6% ABV.
Day five of September’s THEME WEEK has another year-round selection from New Belgium Brewing Company. Day 5′s brew: Mothership Wit.
Mothership Wit is a witbier with a 4.8%. This organic ale is part of the “Explore Series” and is available year-round.
Hoegaarden is a Belgian witbier brewed with spices. This reportedly 565 year old beer brew has a 4.9% ABV.
