Since the growler fills were limited to only certain beers I figured I would buck their standard fare and go for one of the special release beers that was available. Being that we were their for the 4th Anniversary Celebration I figured it was fitting to get the growler filled with their 4th ANNIVERSARY ALE.
4th Anniversary Ale (Doppelsticke Alt) is an Alt-bier with 44 IBUs and an 8.8% ABV.
This past Saturday was the 4th Anniversary celebration at Hangar 24 Craft Brewery in Redlands, California. It had been three years since I had been to the brewery, so I just in the car with a couple of my roommates and we headed east.
Beer #6 lead me back to the world of hops.
2010 PRO-AM IPA is an Imperial IPA brewed in collaboration with homebrewer Dwight Mulcahy. This award-winning brew has 87 IBUs and an 8% ABV.
For beer number 5 (I didn’t take notes on #4) I got in line with and waited patiently for the release of their big barrel-aged Russian Imperial Stout. And even though they only gave out 6 oz. pours, boy was it worth it!
PUGACHEV’S COBRA is a part of their Barrel Roll Series. This Russian Imperial Stout has a surprising 85 IBUs and a massive 16.5% ABV.
For beer number 3 I went back to the Local Fields Series.
VINACEOUS is an Old Ale with 41 IBUs and an 8.7% ABV.
For my second beer I decided I might as well try something from their year round line up.
COLUMBUS IPA is an India Pale Ale with a 7% ABV and 77 IBUs.
My first beer of the Hangar 24 4th Anniversary Celebration was a beer from their Local Fields Series.
ESSENCE is an Imperial IPA with an 8.5% ABV and 75 IBUs.
