Burly Gourd (The Bruery)

For beer number 5 I decided to mix it up and step away from the Bootlegger’s beers for a minute. I saw the label for The Bruery’s BURLY GOURD and knew it would be right up my alley. Boy was I right!

Burly Gourd is part of the Bruery’s Provisions Series. This Milk/Sweet Stout has an unholy 6.66% ABV.

77th Anniversary Ale (Bootlegger’s Brewery)

The Barleywine is a style that I don’t drink that often and it’s not because I don’t enjoy them. It just seems that: 1. They’re not that common. 2. They’re usually seasonal. and 3. They’re big and not great for sessions (or beer events where I find myself drinking all day). With that being said, my fourth beer of the day was their 77th ANNIVERSARY ALE.

77th Anniversary Ale is an American Barleywine with a, small for the style, 7.7% ABV.

After consulting my phone I found a nice little diner called Planet Java and made my way there. As I ate my breakfast I was forced to watch the Giants vs. Seahawks game (which NY ended up winning, boo). Continue reading

Side Car (Sierra Nevada Brewing Company)

Side Car Amber was the last beer on the list that I hadn’t had before or isn’t readily available, so it was my beer number four. This Amber Ale had a not too shabby 5.4% ABV.

Old Chico Crystal Wheat (Sierra Nevada Brewing Company)

Whenever I go to something like this I try to try the beers that I’ve never had before. Old Chico Brand Crystal Wheat was one of those beers. This American Pale Wheat beer is available year round and has a very sessionable 4.3% ABV.

Oktoberfest (Sierra Nevada Brewing Company)

For beer #2 I figured I might as well go with their Oktoberfest beer (being that I was at an Oktoberfest celebration). This seasonal Oktoberfest-style Märzen has a slightly above average 5.7% ABV.

1st Anniversary Ale (Ladyface Alehouse & Brasserie)

1st Anniversary Ale was brewed to celebrate Ladyface Alehouse’s (you guessed it!) first anniversary. This Belgian Quadrupel has a whopping 11% ABV.
