Portamarillo (Dogfish Head Craft Brewery & Epic Brewing Company)

I have a problem. I’m a beer hoarder. I’ll see a limited release or one-off beer at the beer store and I’ll buy it. I may not have any plan to drink the beer any time soon, but the thought of missing out on what could be my favorite beer of all time is too much to pass up. That being said, I’m going to start cleaning out my “beer cellar” and writing reviews of these beers. Here’s beer number 1.

Dogfish Head:Epic Portamarillo labelPORTAMARILLO is a collaboration beer brewed by Delaware’s Dogfish Head Craft Brewery and the folks from Epic Brewing Company out of Auckland, New Zealand. This American Porter was brewed has a 7% ABV and was brewed using the New Zealand native tamarillo fruit.

Tweason’ale (Dogfish Head Craft Brewery)

The uniqueness with which they make their brews always draws me to Dogfish Head Craft Brewery. Be it unique ingredients or unique styles, their beers usually push the boundaries in one way or another. TWEASON’ALE is a Fruit/Vegetable beer with a 6% ABV.

Red & White (Dogfish Head Craft Brewery)

If there’s one thing Dogfish Head is known for it’s making unique limited release beers. President and founder Sam Calagione is always on a quest for new ingredients to add to his ever-expanding line of off-centered ales. Although RED & WHITE isn’t as “out there” as some of the stuff they produce, it is definitely not your typical beer.

Red & White is a Belgian-style Witbier with a practically non-existent 35 IBUs and an ABV that floats between beer and wine at 10%.
