Beer Geek Brunch Weasel (Mikkeller)

BEER GEEK BRUNCH WEASEL is an Imperial Stout from Denmark’s Mikkeller Brewery. Part of their “Beer Geek” series, Weasel uses Kopi Luwak coffee beans (widely regarded as the best and most expensive coffee in the world) to add an extra dimension to this beer.

Koppi Coffee IPA (Mikkeller)

Even though I already had a cabinet full of beer as soon as I saw this beer I knew I had to try it. It’s not everyday that you come across a coffee IPA. Leave it up to those wacky Danes to put coffee in, what’s otherwise known as a hoppy beer, the india pale ale. There are two variations of Koppi out there and the one I picked up is brewed with Tomahawk hops and Guji natural coffee. This odd duck of a beer clocks in at 6.9%.

Picture City Porter is another year-round beer from Ladyface Alehouse. This tasty porter comes topped with coffee flakes (when ordering a pint from the bar) and clocks in at 5.8%.

Espresso Amber Ale (Peak Organic Brewing Company)

Day 5 brings us a style of beer that I had never heard of before, the ESPRESSO AMBER ALE.

Espresso Amber Ale is a certified organic beer from Portland, Maine’s Peak Organic.  It clocks in at 7% ABV and has 22 IBUs.

Shaky Hands (Hollister Brewing Co.)

Day 3 brings us a beer that I happened to try by chance.  My roommates went on a trip to Santa Barbara and on the way back they stopped at the Hollister Brewing Company.  There they picked up today’s THEME WEEK selection: SHAKY HANDS.

Shaky Hands is an American porter brewed with coffee and clocks in at 7.5% ABV.

Espresso Oak Aged Yeti (Great Divide Brewing)

Day 2 of October’s THEME WEEK brings us a beer that is new to California: ESPRESSO OAK AGED YETI from Great Divide Brewing.

Espresso Oak Aged Yeti is a variation of the classic Yeti.  This imperial stout is only available between February-March and clocks in at 9.5% ABV.
