The Bruery is one brewery (that feels redundant, but I couldn’t think of a better way to put it) that keeps reeling me back in. Even if I didn’t enjoy the last x number of beers of theirs I tried, I’ll still get excited when something new hits the shelves/taps. This holds doubly true for anything that could be considered a “one off”. And that is exactly what this beer is.
BATCH 1000 – BRYEIAN is a Cascadian Dark Ale/Black Ale with a 7% ABV that was brewed to celebrate their 1000 batch of beer. Continue reading
Pizza Port has been a staple of the Southern California craft beer scene for the past 22 years. Even though their bottled offerings have been available for a while now, it wasn’t until recently that they started canning a few of their more popular offerings. It was my knowledge of the quality of their product and the very affordable price point that made me decide to pick up a sixer of one their classics.
CHRONIC ALE is an Amber Ale with a sessionable 4.9% ABV. Continue reading
I had originally picked this beer up to drink at movie night with my friends, but after reading the description on the label I realized it would be best suited for a time when I could actually enjoy it (ie a time where I wasn’t already three sheets to the wind). Was it worth it? Let’s find out.
CAMPFIRE STOUT is an American Stout with a 6.5% ABV and 38 IBUs.
I love the idea behind these “Class of ’88” beers. A bunch of breweries who were all founded in 1988 have gotten together to created a commemorative recipe. They then go to their respective brewery and brew said recipe. The result being the beer I’m here to review.
CLASS OF ’88 BARLEYWINE STYLE ALE is a collaboration between North Coast, Rogue, and Deschutes. This particular version was brewed at North Coast and has an even 10% ABV.
Back in September/October I took a trip up to the bay area. After leaving Sierra Nevada one evening I stopped at a local liquor store to grab some beers for the hotel room. Since I was in a new market I figured I’d grab something we don’t have access to down here in SoCal. Several weeks later I finally reviewed one of those beers. And a couple of months after that I wrote this review.
BREW FREE! OR DIE IPA is one of the year-round beers that 21st Amendment puts into cans. This American IPA has 70 IBUs and a 7% ABV.
This beer was chosen when I read the description and said “What is this??”.
BEER CAMP: BELGIAN STYLE BLACK IPA is a Belgian IPA with a 7.7% ABV and 52 IBUs.
I’m not a Pilsner guy, but I’m always willing to try one. Especially when it has a name as good as this.
‘MURICAN PILSNER is a Pilsner with 20 IBUs and a 5% ABV.
