Brekle’s Brown (Anchor Brewing Company)

I don’t drink a lot of Anchor Brewing’s beers. Maybe it’s because their labels are all so similar and not that eye-catching. Or it could be due to the fact that their beers are relatively straight forward. That doesn’t mean they aren’t good. What I have had has all been rather enjoyable. Where am I going with this? Thanks for asking. I’m here to tell you about an Anchor beer that I recently drank that was purchased because of the fact that it was unique enough to catch my eye while sitting amongst hundreds of its peers on the Total Wine beer shelf. Which beer am I talking about? Let me show you.

Breckle's BrownBREKLE’S BROWN is an American Brown Ale with a 6% ABV.

Our Special Ale 2010 (Anchor Brewing Company)

Every year Anchor Brewing Company releases “Our Special Ale”, their version of the winter warmer. Each year they modify the recipe, and they label, before releasing it to the public. This year’s brew (the 36th) has an ABV of 5.5%.

Fritz & Ken’s Ale (Sierra Nevada Brewing Company)

Fritz & Ken’s Ale is a collaboration between Frizt Maytag from Anchor Brewing and Ken Grossman from Sierra Nevada brewed to celebrate SN’s 30th anniversary.  This imperial stout has a 9.2% ABV.
