Double Elimination DIPA (The Beer Company)

After knocking out their standard IPA I figured it was time to take things up a notch and go with their Double IPA.

Hopslam (Bell’s Brewery)

I didn’t get into craft beer until after I moved to California (a little over six years ago), so I haven’t been able to enjoy much of Bell’s Brewery’s output. Every time I find myself back in Ohio I try to grab as many Bell’s products as possible. Normally I’m not there at the right time to try any of their critically acclaimed beers, but thanks to a beer trade with a friend back home I’ve secured one of the big guns.

17th Anniversary Wood Aged Double IPA (Great Divide Brewery)

I’ve had an affinity for Double IPAs for a while now, but it wasn’t until last year that I tried my first wood/oak aged DIPA. I was instantly hooked! Now add that to the fact that Great Divide makes some pretty good beers and have a great visual brand and I knew I had to purchase their 17th ANNIVERSARY WOOD AGED DOUBLE IPA.

17th Anniversary is a Double/Imperial IPA with a hearty 10% ABV.

Robert Johnson’s Hellhound on my Ale (Dogfish Head Craft Brewery)

ROBERT JOHNSON’S HELLHOUND ON MY ALE is the second beer brewed in collaboration with Sony Legacy. This beer was created in honor of blues legend Robert Johnson who would have turned 100 in 2011 (and was notoriously said to have sold his soul to the devil).

Hellhound on my Ale is an Imperial IPA with a 10% ABV and a surprisingly low (for the style) 58 IBUs. Continue reading
