77th Anniversary Ale (Bootlegger’s Brewery)

The Barleywine is a style that I don’t drink that often and it’s not because I don’t enjoy them. It just seems that: 1. They’re not that common. 2. They’re usually seasonal. and 3. They’re big and not great for sessions (or beer events where I find myself drinking all day). With that being said, my fourth beer of the day was their 77th ANNIVERSARY ALE.

77th Anniversary Ale is an American Barleywine with a, small for the style, 7.7% ABV.

The third review in the FLYING DOG BREWERY THEME WEEK is for their barleywine HORN DOG.

Horn Dog is another in the Canis Major series of beer from the folks at Flying Dog. This barley wine style ale has an ABV of 10.2% and 45 IBUs.

Olde GnarlyWine is the January seasonal beer from the fine folks at Lagunitas. A big beer, Olde GnarlyWine clocks in with an O.G. of 1.096, 69.39 IBU’s and a 10% ABV.
