Strawberry Blonde is a fruit beer from Long Beach California’s Belmont Brewing Company. This award-winning brew has an easy drinking 4.5% ABV.
This exceptional Fruit Beer is also golden in color with a mild strawberry aroma and a fantastic dry refreshing finish. Bronze Certificate in the 2001 California State Fair & a Bronze Medal winner in the 1997 World Beer Championships. 4.5% alcohol by volume.
The beer pours a see through straw color. The head is an inch of white. It quickly dissipates into a mini film with no lacing.
Whoa, does this beer smell like strawberries. I also picked up carbonation-like foam and lemon/citrus notes. It reminded me of a strawberry gum.
I must admit that I was let down by the flavor of this beer. The awesome strawberry scents that were so present in the nose did not make the transition to the flavor. The strawberry notes are really muted in the taste and I was hoping for more. I also picked up hints of honey and an odd macro/adjunct rice taste.
The mouthfeel is dry with carbonation dancing around in the liquid. The flavor goes away quickly though, taking any remembrance of the beer with it.
Strawberry Blonde feels like a beer aimed at the American macro crowd. It smells delicious, but doesn’t deliver in the taste department.
